Wild Forest Estate Romantic-Retreat
A quiet return to each other
Do you remember when your lover said yes to you for the first time?
Do you remember the first touch,
the first kiss,
the first gasp?
Isn’t that something that deserves more than a bottle of wine over dinner?
Isn’t that something that deserves space, privacy and stillness?
You will find all that and more here, in the Forest.
No scripts. No spectacle.
Just you and your lover—held by nature, presence, and care.

"It felt like my childhood imagination had come to life! I’ll never forget the surreal sense of peace—lying on the bed at sundown, all the doors open, floating in the trees, listening to the birds’ chorus before bed."
Targa, November 2024

Some couples come with a reason.
An anniversary. A proposal. A new chapter.
Others come without knowing why—
only that their love deserves to be celebrated.
Love is welcome here.

Three nights here, just the two of you, gives you enough time to soften, settle, and reconnect in a genuine and deep way. Your retreat is yours. You’re welcome to stay longer if you’d like—or shorter. Some couples come for a week. Others return for a second stretch after a first magical reconnection. There’s no fixed timeline—just an open space for what exists between the two of you. Whether you come for three nights or twelve, this is a place where love breathes.
-
Wild Forest is nestled in native bush near Trounson Kauri Park on the Kauri Coast of Aotearoa New Zealand. It’s quiet here. The birds are loud. The stars are clear. You’ll be staying in one of our simple, soulful spaces—designed for stillness, warmth, and just the right amount of comfort.
-
This is a retreat that has always been waiting for the two of you and the love that you share. It could be an anniversary, a new beginning, the next phase, or just because your love so fully deserves to be celebrated in all its wonderful glory.
It doesn’t have to be for the big occasion. Some come for a quiet reflection with each other, to deepen, to rest in it.
If you’re longing for time with your lover—unstructured, undemanding, and held by nature—this retreat is for you.
-
You’ll both be held in seclusion and privacy, surrounded by forest, birdsong, and stillness. Each retreat space is designed for two—with safety, comfort and care at the heart of it. Many people tell us they feel connected here in a way they haven’t in years.
-
If you’d like, we can offer a gentle structure to support your days—walks, rest times, simple rituals. Or you can simply follow your own rhythms. There’s no right way to retreat.
-
Your couple scaffold is a kind of inner map—crafted from both of your reflections. It can begin to connect you even before you arrive, and remain a token after you leave. It holds the essence of what matters to both of you, offering presence, clarity, and quiet honoring.

Begin Here: A Conversation with Yourself
Before you book, we invite you to pause.
Take a moment to check in—not to figure anything out, but to notice what’s present.
This short reflection isn’t about giving us information.
It’s a chance to hear what’s stirring in you—and what you’re hoping for in this time together.
You’re welcome to send it our way.
If you do, we’ll hold your words with care and use them to quietly shape a relationship scaffold that will clarify the space around you.
Or you can keep it for yourself—as a private intention. Both are valid. Both matter.
For many couples, this is where the retreat really begins.
After the Retreat
The return is part of the retreat.
What begins in stillness doesn’t end when you leave.
The days that follow are part of the unfolding.
This space offers gentle invitations to help you integrate what you touched here—at your own pace, in your own way.
There is no pressure. Only presence.
Journaling Invitations
Quiet threads to meet you where you are.
A few days after your retreat, we’ll send a short set of reflection prompts.
They are not tasks—they are soft openings.
Crafted to help you carry what you found into your life, gently.
Examples:
– What did I remember about my lover?
– What is asking to stay soft?
– How will we honour the silence we met?
A Letter to Your Lover
A moment you don’t want to forget.
Before you leave, you’re invited to write a short note to your lover.
Something simple. Something you want them to feel, to remember.
We’ll send it back to you a few weeks later—just as the world begins to rush again.
A quiet anchor. A reminder of the love you share, beneath the noise.
A Quiet Circle
Stay close, if it feels right.
If you’d like to stay connected, we offer occasional seasonal reflections.
Not a newsletter—more like a pulse.
A way to return, if that feels nourishing.
You can join after your retreat. Only if it calls.
“I had the most beautiful solo retreat staying in the tree house. The house was beautifully appointed, the linen luxurious, the outdoor bath was a balm - watching the wind in the trees in the rain. I finished 4 books, journalled, napped and didn’t talk to anyone for 68 hours - it was bliss. I highly recommend Joanna and Nigel and their beautiful property. Whether you want connection time with your partner or yourself or nature. You can’t go wrong.”
